with the Olisipo Vocal Group
The third concert dedicated to the Major Periods in the History of Music is dedicated to the Baroque and the musical genius of Johann Sebastian Bach. We will listen to two works that reflect his activity as a composer, divided between sacred and profane music.
The Orchestral Suite No.3 begins with the splendour that characterises the Baroque period and includes the famous 'Aria' for strings.
The Olisipo Vocal Group, a stand-out ensemble on the Portuguese choral scene, will join in to sing 'Magnificat' - possibly an all-time pinnacle of religious music!
